| Denny Barnes will join Bumps & Babes to talk about what parents can do to ensure that their children develop healthy gut flora to have a healthy immune system, avoid frequent infections and colds, prevent diarrhea and constipation, and most importantly minimize the risk of their kids developing allergies, eczema, asthma and other autoimmune disorders. Denny will be speaking mostly about using probiotics and making probiotic yogurt to grow healthy gut flora. About Denny Barnes Denny Barnes was a US diplomat for 25 years serving mainly in China. These days he is not diplomatic at all! (According to Denny) Denny is noted for straight talk on health and wellness issues which reflects the latest developments in nutrition. Upon leaving the foreign service, Denny and his wife Haiting established a nutrition company in Shanghai which manufactures Made in USA nutritional supplements in the US for distribution in China under various private labels. He also exports some Chinese made ingredients to US companies. Currently, he is developing some probiotic yogurt strains with Chinese microbiologists for export to the US. Denny writes and speaks frequently on health and wellness issues. It is both a lifelong passion and his current business. Denny is the 58 year-old father of a very amazing two year-old son, Mason. An important goal in his life is to remain healthy long enough to dance with his son's bride at his wedding in 25-30 years. Perhaps some of you can give him tips on dance lessons after his talk. Although Denny has spent most of his adult life in China, he still has a home in Portland, Oregon and identifies strongly with the natural wonder of his home. As Shanghai lacks forests to hike in and mountains to climb, Denny enjoys cycling as an outdoor hobby in Pudong. |
